1. Description: A swap meet is were people 'meet' to 'swap' their unwanted items for something else they may want - without paying for anything. The focus will be on anime, manga, comic, and video game related items.
2. Layout: there will be tables lined up for people to display their items. there should be enough space on the table so that other people's things dont blend together, creating confusion as to who owns what.
3. What to swap: any anime, manga, and video game related items:
DVDs/VHS and boxsets
Manga, comics, doujinshis
video games, gaming systems and handhelds, controllers, and other accessories
posters, wall scrolls, pictures, fan art
figures, model kits
T-shirts, bags, lolita, cosplay clothes and accessories, pins/buttons, or any type of geek-wear
trading card games - pokemon, yu gi oh, bleach, DBZ, magic, etc
...anything else not listed here that's fits the criteria
4. Rules and procedure of the swap meet: One hour only
All people who want to participate in the swap meet must bring things to swap. Everyone needs to sign in, so that there's a list of people who are participating. Each person will be given a number, which they will place next to their displayed items on the table.
There should be a designated person to record all the items that each person brought with them - which will help with disputes, lost, or stolen items.
No one is allowed to take an item without the consent of the owner of that item. Participants are encouraged to bargin and haggle for what they want - but no fighting.
If there is an 18+ section, then trading of these items must be done among people who are 18 and over.
Participants should come early so there's plenty of time for them to set up and check in.

Lolita Picnic
TBA
National Mall, Washington, DC
Freer Gallery Garden
DC Anime Club will have a Lolita Picnic. For those who are unfamiliar,
Lolita is a fashion subculture in Japan that is primarily influenced by
Victorian children clothing, as well as costumes from the Rococo
period. Lolita has made this into a unique fashion by adding gothic and
original design elements to the look. From this, Lolita fashion has
evolved into several different sub styles and has created a devoted
subculture in Japan. The Lolita look consists primarily of a
knee-length skirt or dress, headdress, blouse, petticoat, knee-high
socks or stockings, and rocking horse or high heel/platform shoes.
Members are encouraged to bring food, since there will be a potluck with the photo shoot.
We will meet up at Smithsonian Subway Station (Blue/Orange Line) at 11am, then proceed to the Mall. Come in your best Lolita outfits.
THIS EVENT IS FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.
