We at DC Anime Club prefer to watch uncut animation. (We would much rather watch Uncut Naruto than what is shown on Cartoon Network.)

All anime/East Asian Cinema will be shown with permission from the US Distributors (i.e. ADVfilms, Manga Entertainment, Funimation etc).

All Anime/Live Action screened at DC Anime Club Meetings are rated PG or PG-13.

Members who wish to bring Anime/live action cinema for fellow club members to watch (whether for the Regular Line-Up, BYOA or the Monthly Movie Showings) must first inform either the President, Vice President or Sgt in Arms of DC Anime Club at least two weeks before the proposed screening. This will give us enough time to get permission from the US distributors.

Club members are welcome to bring in anime that they think club members will enjoy. Any show submitted for the regular line-up must first cater to the above viewing guidelines and must be a series or OVA/OAV (Original Video Animation/Original Animation Video) not an Anime Movie. Anime Series submitted by club members must contain no more than 20 episodes. Club members must also have the entire series of the anime that they wish to submit for the regular line-up.

-Burned DVDs
-Any copy of any sort of material under copyright.

 

 

Anime/Live Action Cinema Screenings
This is when we watch Japanese Animation/East Asian Cinema with English subtitles. The Anime/East Asian screening are split into three major screening events: the Regular line-up, Bring Your Own Anime (BYOA) and Movie Showings. Please read the DC Anime Club Viewing Guidelines if you are interested in submitting Anime/East Asian cinema for DC Anime Club to watch.

Bring your own Anime (BYOA)
During DC Anime Club meetings there will be one or two hours for Bring Your Own Anime (BYOA), which will take place after the regular line-up. This is when club members can bring in anime for club members to show. BYOA must cater to the above viewing guidelines.

Monthly Movie Showings
This is when DC Anime Club watches Anime/East Asian Cinema. Club members are more than welcome to bring in Anime/East Asian Cinema that follows the above guidelines.

Anime That got You Started
Members are encouraged to bring an anime that got them hooked. Members introduce the anime, share what they like about it and screen for the club.

Members are encouraged to bring in anime not yet seen by DC Anime Club.
